Last week, The Journal News covered our Town Board candidates. Candidates Elyse Arnow Brill and David Parmet were featured.
Here’s a snippit:
Arnow Brill, president of the Pound Ridge Land Conservancy, said she wanted to bring her environmental advocacy skills to the Town Board. “I’m running to be a strong voice for environmental protection,” said the 51-year-old writer and strategic planning consultant. “My hope, as an environmentalist, is that land will be protected, our open space will be protected.”
Parmet, a 43-year-old marketing and public relations consultant, said Town Board Republicans, who hold a 4-1 majority, lack a strategic vision. He said that, despite years of work by volunteers, the town still doesn’t have a new comprehensive plan, which acts as a blueprint for how the town should grow. “(Without a plan) your Planning Board, your zoning board and your Town Board are enacting things that impact the town, but it has no rhyme or reason,” Parmet said. He also accused Republicans of a slow response to Federal Aviation Administration regulations that shift airline flight patterns over the town.
We’ll highlight more coverage as it comes in.
